Berlin

The Joys of Travel

Don'y you just love running up to the gate just in time to see your flight (from Amsterdam to Berlin) just pulling away from the gate? Grrrrrr.

Wind turbine

It took me a few moments to figure out what these trucks were hauling but they are wind turbine blades. Bigger than I thought! Lucky to get the pictures with me going 70 in one direction and the truck traveling the other way.

Not so smart?

A couple of months ago I posted a picture of this "Smart Car" as I thought it was pretty neat. And already it is for sale.

Newest Prairie view

The seasons just keep rolling along. From white to brown and now getting green.

Farmer's Market II

The food part of the farmer's market is a little behind schedule due to the bad weather but the crafters are not missing a beat.

A lot of hard work went into the design, promotion, grant writing and planning for this new family reunion pavilion in East St. Louis. Great to see it under construction.

Sunrise

Early morning on the prairie.

Nasty job

Do you know what a pain it is to paint a picket fence? What a job for Memorial Day Weekend!

Corn is growing

The wet weather has slowed planting but here is some corm planted in the filed behind us.

Looking for Cats

My morning walks of 3 miles in Homer have amount to about 1000 miles a year so for 10 years of walking it can get a little boring. However, I have fun checking for cats looking out windows at Yoshi and I and here is one.

Robins

I need to work on the lighting but the little one sure was hungry.

Peanuts

Some years ago I bought a big bag of peanuts and brought them to my office to share with all. It was a great way to bring together faculty and students in my office. I finally found a new source and you are all welcome to a handful but you have to stay and chat.

Can you guess which one is the returning wren and the vulture?
